Liberec Zoo is the oldest zoological garden in the Czech Republic, founded in 1904. It is a medium-sized zoo covering approximately 14 hectares, home to over 170 animal species. Notable species include the Chinese takin, Grévy's zebra, forest reindeer, snow leopard, margay, hamadryas baboon, yellow-breasted mangabey, viscacha, caiman lizard, hyacinth macaw, and bearded vulture.

Adjacent to the zoo is the oldest botanical garden in the Czech Republic, established in 1876. It is open every day of the year and features an impressive collection of tropical plants, cacti, succulents, fragrant blooming flowers, and the largest collection of water lilies.
